We've been to the Azores twice in the last few years. Lou and Dalia are both Azorean and this restaurant reflects their heritage and cuisine. Lou has a talent for the perfect blend of seasoning and balance of flavors! The restaurant features pictures of the Azores and its atmosphere made us feel like we were dining in a family establishment in Ponta Delgada. Obrigada!
This place is a real joy to have near us. We've been a few times and every time we've absolutely adored it. Dalia makes the best tiramisu I have ever had and everything I've ever had there has been of a similar quality. While the regular menu is full of excellent authentic choices - such as the Caciola sandwich, the Shrimp Moambique, and anything to do with their amazing chorizo - the thing that I've found here that is truly amazing are the specials they have every once in a while. Chosen from whatever is fresh in the market, they create some unbelievably good dishes like the octopus stew, Spanish style clams and mussels, Portuguese chili, or any of the other traditional creations they make, it's the specials I find myself coming back for every week.
My husband and I recently heard about Dalia's and finally got to go there last night. We were not disappointed! Lou and Dalia are just a lovely couple and charming hosts. The restaurant has that old country feel to it, very low key, comfortable and family-ish. The food was very, very fresh and good! Our favorite was this mac and cheese-seafood-vegetable concoction that was delicious! The seafood is very fresh, and there was a delicious taste on the steamed vegetables that went beyond the lovely butter and garlic flavor. We finished off by sharing a tiramisu, which was light and flavorful. A new gem in southern NH - yum!
